Welcome to the SCCSG web page.

The Scottish Conference of Cancer Support Groups was established in 1987, to enable members of Cancer Self-help and Support Groups to meet together, in Scotland.

There are many groups in Scotland, each of which provides support to people affected by cancer in the community in which they meet. Many are small in number, and many are cancer or gender specific.

To reduce isolation and to encourage networking, the Conference takes place, annually. The Conference programme allows members to learn about recent developments in cancer research and treatment, to discuss issues of common concern and to share techniques which will improve quality of life.

The Conference is a Registered Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee, and it holds the AGM as part of the Annual Conference.

No membership fee is paid, by groups or individuals, to affiliate to and receive news about the Conference. The Conference seeks to keep the cost to each delegate to a minimum to allow equal access for all.
